We began our Speckle Park journey in 2017 and have been steadily building our foundation herd ever since. Last year, we made our sale debut where our bull, Born Ready Shady, set a new world record by selling for $150,000. After seeing a marked increase in weight gain in a mob of backgrounding steers in 2017 we starting acquiring speckle park commercial cows and in 2021 our HAW prefix was registered. We enjoy seeking out the best genetics with proven progeny to give a good diversity of high performing females as a base herd in line with our motto ‘When Performance Counts’ We focus on temperament, fertility, fine coats and commercial performance and believe we have cattle that will perform well in Queensland conditions being bred in ticky country with humid summers. Ivery Downs Speckle Park Ivery Downs is based in Colinton and runs a commercial herd of circa 1,000 head plus approximately 160 stud Speckle Park animals. Being located in Queensland, away from the breeze of the coast, we have heat, ticks, hills, droughts and floods to contend with therefore, resilient and structurally correct animals with the constitution to remain functional and sound are critically important to us. The Ivery Downs animals in this catalogue possess the traits we consider necessary to continue to perform in a variety of conditions and provide you with the benefits to which we have become accustomed since making the change to Speckle Park. We were impressed with the breeds’ do- ability and feed conversion, which led us down the stud path. We now run around 100 purebred cows developed from a number of studs around Australia and Canada, with a focus on breeding larger framed, clean fronted, free moving cattle, that survive under any conditions. Established in 2018, we have meticulously assembled a wide range of foundational genetics from highly influential family lines. Our own elite Novae females now form the bulk of our donor pen allowing us to run multiple flush and AI programs each year. Out in the paddock, our stud animals run side by side with commercial/recipient livestock and must consistently perform to remain in our operation. With a regenerative agriculture focus, we place heavy selection pressure on our animals to exhibit environmental adaptation, structural correctness and natural foraging ability with limited to no supplemental inputs. We are excited to bring another quality line up of animals to this year’s Hot Spot sale. We have been beef producers for many years and started to produce commercial Speckle Park cattle in 2010. We registered our stud in 2016 with foundation cows from Waratah, Three Way and Almarlea studs. We participate in embryo reproduction and in the Breedplan program. SND Signature Speckles SND Signature Speckles is a family run operation comprising of Shaun and Debbie along with their two children Logan and Sophie based on the Darling Downs near Pittsworth QLD. Having entered the breed on a commercial basis initially we were blown away at our speckle infused females easy do-ability, feed conversion, fertility and temperament. As the saying goes they ‘run off the smell of an oily rag!’ regardless of the season. In 2019 we made the decision to jump feet first into a stud operation alongside our current commercial operation focusing on quality Speckle Park cattle bred for the Queensland market. We are passionate about the breed and the impact it is and will continue to have on the Australian beef industry. More focusing on commercial base, we breed for the easy carcass turn over and temperament along with structure. We are based in Jiggi NSW, 20 minutes out of Lismore. MATT BLACK 0419 758 439 Superb Speckle Park Superb Speckle Park is based near Deepwater, on the Northern Tablelands NSW. Superb Speckle Park is owned by teenage sisters Ali and Suzie Lockwood. The stud was established in 2020 with the purchased of Waratah Pho-finish N103, who we have flushed with amazing success, leading us to buy a second heifer, Baw Baw Sarah PCJ Q39. After further flush and embryo transfer programs at Coldwood Pastoral, we have expanded our herd to more than 50 animals. Our aim is to produce quality fertile and efficient cattle with good carcass yield. We have flushed our two cows to a number of well known bulls, the most heavily featured bull in our herd, and sale animals, is Wattle Grove Moonshine (WGS E10). With an interest in cattle showing we have shown bulls and females with success at many local shows, as well as winning classes at Ekka 2023 and Beef 2024 including Junior Champion Bull.
