Auction Information

Auction The Auction commences at 4pm on 21 September 2024.

Phone Bidding If you are unable to attend the Auction and are not able to bid online, please contact the Agent prior to the Auction to arrange someone to bid on your behalf. Transport Live Lots must be transported from the Auction venue by midday on the day following the Auction, unless otherwise agreed with the Promoter or Agent only. Scotty’s Livestock Transport is the official livestock carrier of the Auction and will be in attendance on Auction day. However, Buyers are at liberty to use any livestock carrier they choose. Scotty Canning 0407 736 599 Insurance All Lots are at the Buyer’s risk on the fall of the hammer. We recommend you consider the need to take out insurance cover for Lots purchased by you at Auction. Animal Health The vaccination status of each live Lot is noted in the individual Lot listing. Each bull has passed both crush-side and semen morphology evaluations and each female Stud Lot has had an internal examination of reproductive organs. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for the guarantees provided. You may request a copy of vaccination records and test results from the relevant Vendor prior to the Auction. Tick Clearance The Auction venue is located within the ‘tick infested zone’. To ensure you can buy with confidence, all live Lots will be pre-treated and certified as tick free by an accredited tick certifier, at no cost to the Buyer.

DNA testing and EBVs An animal’s breeding value can be defined as its genetic merit for each trait. With a young breed and limited data currently available, it is not possible to determine an animal’s true breeding value – only estimates can be provided. These estimates are called Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs). EBVs can be used as one of many tools available to prospective Buyers when making decisions for their individual program. To the extent they are available from SPI, EBVs have been included for each Stud Lot. Supplementary Sheet A supplementary sheet including scan data, weights, measurements, joining and pregnancy testing details (if applicable) will be made available online and in hard copy on Auction day. This raw data and the results of physical inspection can be used in conjunction with EBV information to make a balanced assessment as to the suitability of an animal for your program. To the extent available, DNA testing information for each Stud Lot is provided. The DNA testing codes are explained below:

Prospective buyers are welcome to inspect live Lots from 1pm on Auction day or earlier by prior arrangement with the relevant Vendor or the Promoter. Location The Auction will be conducted live on-farm at Ivery Downs Speckle Park, 115 Turners Road, Colinton, Queensland. Directional signage will be in place from both the Brisbane Valley Highway and D’Aguilar Highway.

Accommodation Camping overnight at Ivery Downs is welcome, particularly for those staying on to attend the Open Education Day being run by the Speckle Park International Youth Sub-Committee. Showers and toilet facilities are available. There are multiple accommodation options in surrounding towns including Harlin, Toogoolawah and Moore. Registration Intending buyers must be a registered bidder to participate in the Auction. Please see the Agent on Auction day to register as a bidder.
