Meet Bundy – an experienced cattle-breaking donkey who has already helped prepare numerous show cattle, including 10 animals exhibited at the recent Ekka. Breaking donkeys can be an invaluable addition to a show cattle operation, taking much of the manual labour out of the breaking process while providing an additional level of safety for handlers. Bundy is a patient, gentle worker who takes his time with cattle and has experience working with animals at varying stages of education. Bundy has been in consistent training with Troy for approximately nine months and will be sold trained and ready to work. However, like any working animal – including a working horse – maintaining that training requires regular handling and work. Bundy’s new owner will also need to spend time developing their own working relationship with Bundy and becoming familiar with how to use him effectively. If Bundy is not worked regularly, refresher training may be required before returning him to cattle. Troy is happy to provide advice and assistance to Bundy’s new owner if required; however, any ongoing or refresher training following the sale is the responsibility of the buyer and is not included in the purchase price. Prospective buyers are strongly encouraged to contact Troy prior to the sale to discuss how Bundy is worked, what is required of the handler and the ongoing work needed to get the best from him.
