Fox Tail Hill Speckle Park Fox Tail Hill Speckle Park was established in 2014 by Troy Hepburn with the recent addition of Fox Tail Hills Speckle Park in 2022 by Kate Hepburn. As a brother and sister duo, we run these studs as a family, working together to grow a stud herd of over 50 purebred females that we are proud of. We have had many successes at the Royal and local shows. At Fox Tail Hill we have focused on breeding our Speckle Park for both stud and beef purposes, leaning into the quality beef in Speckle Park cattle. With Troy being a butcher, we enjoy feeding and growing out show steers and butcher calves that are showing impressive carcase results and leaving customers wanting more. We are excited to offer Fox Tail Hill bred progeny that we are proud of and believe will go far in any herd and will continue to offer many more in the years to come. After seeing a marked increase in weight gain in a mob of backgrounding steers in 2017, we started acquiring Speckle Park commercial cows and in 2021, our HAW prefix was registered. We enjoy seeking out the best genetics with proven progeny to give a good diversity of high performing females as a base herd in line with our motto ‘When Performance Counts’. We focus on temperament, fertility, fine coats and commercial performance and believe we have cattle that will perform well in Queensland conditions, being bred in ticky country with humid summers. With a commercial herd of around 1,000 head and over 200 stud Speckle Park animals, we’re serious about breeding cattle that work hard and don’t ask for much in return. Between the heat, hills, ticks, droughts and the occasional flood for good measure, our cattle need to be tough, tidy and totally unbothered. That’s why we’ve built a herd that walks the talk -resilient, low-maintenance animals that consistently deliver results. The Ivery Downs draft in this catalogue showcases the kind of cattle that make “Better Output, Less Input” more than just a slogan, it’s our everyday reality. We’re proud of the cattle we’ve put forward and even prouder to be part of a community that values quality, integrity and the building of great relationships over the rails. Ewyn Speckle Park Ewyn Speckle Park was established in 2016 and is based at Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. We began with elite females from cow families with a proven track record in Australia and complemented these families with proven families out of Canada. Today, we have over 50 purebred cows and additional commercial cows used as recipients. We continue to introduce new genetics that will complement the current breeding program, by sourcing the very best sires and females that will add to the depth of our cow herd. Our breeding objective is to breed Speckle Park which are industry relevant for either stud or commercial use, by excelling in structural soundness, thickness, growth, maternal traits, docility and carcase quality. We have a 4.5 star completeness rating with Breedplan and continue to increase the data collected to optimise our selection criteria our client’s profitability. We aim for a balanced dataset of measured traits, and to provide low birth, high growth with carcase quality. We believe that what gets measured, gets results! We focus on consistent maternal lines, and we are proud to offer in the 2025 Hot Spot Multi-Vendor Speckle Park Auction, females right out of the heart of our program. Descendants of Legacy Sassafras 97Y feature heavily, along with many from the Waratah Melisa G34 cow family that never miss, year in year out. Within the offering, are females right from the keeper pen and direct daughters from our best donors. This line up will certainly impress on inspections for their consistency and quality!
